The York County Economic Alliance established the White Rose Appreciation Award as a way to recognize and support those individuals who, over the years, have played an active role with the YCEA and within the York community. The award recipient is chosen for his or her career success and community involvement through the years and the influence he or she has had on others in the community.

Beyond his work in the financial sector, Bob was dedicated to making the York community better for everyone.  He served on boards for numerous non-profit organizations, including Cultural Alliance of York County, United Way of York County, Better York, and Penn State York. Bob was also the founding chairman of the White Rose Foundation, HyStar Enterprises, LLC, and Bindary Associates, LLC, and was the driving force behind “Give Local York”, a 24-hour giving event that raised $3.2 million for more than 300 non-profit organizations in 2019.

  • Revolutionary Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Winner, presented by McNees Wallace and Nurick, LLC – MRG Labs

MRG Labs provides streamlined grease and oil sampling, analysis, and early wear detection solutions to machinery and plant operators around the world. Grease analysis is relatively new in predictive maintenance and is often overlooked because it is thought to be expensive and difficult to get a representative sample from the machine. MRG Labs has invented a grease sampling device, the Grease Thief ®, that allows for a consistent and trendable sample to be taken from the machine every time. The Grease Thief provides nuclear power plants, mining, automotive, wind, and many other industries, with a chance to assess the condition of their grease lubricated equipment. MRG Labs continually strives to improve upon current sampling methods and analyzation techniques. These developments include the invention of the Grease Thief Analyzer to measure consistency of the grease, the StemThief™ to relubricate the stem and nut of a MOV, and the ColorThief to measure the color of the grease under controlled conditions.

Tickets for this event typically sell out, and are available here through the YCEA website. Don’t miss your chance to join us in celebrating our 2020 award winners, and see York’s talent showcased live.
