YORK (January 23, 2019)–The White Rose Leadership Institute is pleased to announce that five local nonprofit leaders have been named to the 2019 class of York Federal Fellows. This year’s fellows include Dr. Silas Chamberlin, Vice President, Economic & Community Development at York County Economic Alliance; Meagan Given, Executive Director of Give Local York; Dr. Shari Kim, CEO of Susquehanna Valley Community Mental Health Services; Tom O’Connor, President of Leg Up Farm; and Tony Schweitzer, Executive Director of Bell Socialization Services.

The York Federal Fellows program offers outstanding nonprofit executive leaders the opportunity to spend a year developing professionally and personally while expanding their leadership skills. With a grant of up to $5,000 each, the executives pursue their development and connect with their nonprofit peers during regular workshop sessions throughout the year.

The Class of 2019 joins 56 York Federal Fellows who have been named over the past twelve years.

Bob Pullo, on behalf of York Federal Savings & Loan Foundation, and the visionary William “Bill” Wolf, founded the York Federal Fellows program in 2006 to encourage and support strong leadership in York’s nonprofit sector. “Providing an opportunity for nonprofit executives to engage in leadership training is one way of showing appreciation for the work that they do, and their contributions to our York County community,” said Pullo.

York Federal Fellows apply to the program in the fall, and are considered on criteria that include a demonstrated collaborative approach to leadership in the community, a self-development plan that meaningfully increases the applicant’s capacity as a leader in the community, and plans that add value to the applicant’s organization and the York community, among others
